From a lifelong passion for learning came the same drive to impart my skills and knowledge onto others. I teach both performance and playwriting to people of all ages, with a primary focus on K-12 and undergraduate college students.

My experience has focused heavily on curriculum development, classroom instruction, one-on-one mentorship, festival curation, and developing teaching artist work for a virtual setting. I approach my work with energy and warmth — I believe that a Teaching Artist’s primary objective is to effectively engage with her students.

Most recently, I directed a production of Seussical at Weston Playhouse with the “Youth Company” (2021). I worked with an extremely talented group of BFA college students. Also this year, I returned to Vermont to teach playwriting in high school classrooms through Weston Playhouse’s “Young Playwrights” program (2021 and 2019). Under my guidance, my students worked to develop ten-minute plays. The program culminated in a festival of the students' work featuring readings of six winning plays.

Previously, I taught a Theatre class to second and third graders through the program Schoodle (2020). This program was virtual, and proved to be an exciting challenge for me as I learned to adapt this very physical medium to an online setting. I was extremely rewarded in seeing the focus and dedication shown by these students when they performed a Dora the Explorer screenplay as their final project. Additional online teaching experience includes instructing journalistic writing for sixth through eight graders with LearningLeaders China (2020) and teaching Greek and Elizabethan theatre history through Broadway from Home (2020).

One of my most rewarding experiences included the opportunity to develop my own curriculum in collaboration with the LearningLeaders Speech & Debate camp program in Shanghai, China (2019). I worked on the speech side, teaching dramatic interpretation and declamation to fifth through eighth grade students in the program.

But most of my instruction occurs in my work as an academic tutor, where I've found a particular niche teaching generalized academics 4th - 8th grade, especially number fluency and algebra, Spanish, ancient and modern history, Shakespeare, and essay writing. I also regularly tutor the SSAT and ISEE examinations for entering middle schoolers and high schoolers.
